A group can hold more than one licence through different entities — Kraken, for instance, appears twice in the register — so the table shows the entity that carries the brand name, and the provider's page links to the others in the same country. Missing a brand you use? It may hold the licence under a name you would not recognise, act under Article 60 as a bank, or not serve the EEA at all — check it by website, which is the reliable way.

How many crypto exchanges are licensed under MiCA?
365 crypto-asset service providers hold a valid MiCA authorisation across the 30 EEA countries, as of the latest ESMA update, with 2 more whose authorisation has been withdrawn. The number grows every week: 58 were authorised in the last 90 days alone.
Which well-known exchanges hold a MiCA licence?
Among the internationally known brands in the register: Coinbase, Kraken, Bitpanda, Bitstamp, Bybit, OKX, Crypto.com, Gemini, eToro, Revolut, Robinhood, KuCoin, Bitvavo, N26, Trade Republic, BBVA, Circle, Paybis, Skrill, BitPay, MoonPay. Each holds the licence through a specific European legal entity — open its page to see which one, and which services it actually covers.
What if the exchange I use is not on this list?
Three innocent explanations and one bad one. It may be licensed under a legal name you do not recognise (Kraken is Payward, Crypto.com is Foris DAX); it may be a bank or investment firm providing crypto services under Article 60; it may simply not serve clients in the EEA. Or it may be operating without authorisation. The check tool searches by website as well as by name, which settles it in most cases.
Is a MiCA licence valid in the whole EU?
Yes, once the provider notifies the countries it wants to serve. The authorisation is granted by one national regulator and passports across the EEA after a notification and 15 calendar days (Article 65). 58 of the 365 providers have notified all 30 countries.
Does a licence mean the exchange is safe?
It means the company met MiCA's organisational, capital and conduct requirements and is supervised by a named authority — a floor, not a recommendation. Crypto-assets are not covered by deposit guarantee schemes, and MiCA itself requires providers to say so.
How to read this list
A MiCA authorisation is granted once, by the regulator of the provider's home Member State, and is then valid across the European Economic Area through passporting. The country shown is that home state — not necessarily where the company markets its services. A provider based in Malta or Cyprus may serve clients in Germany or France after notifying those countries.
The list contains only entities that a regulator has authorised as crypto-asset service providers under Article 59 of MiCA, plus banks and investment firms that notified their intention to provide crypto services under Article 60. It does not contain registrations under the old national regimes, which stopped being valid when the transitional periods ended.
