MERIA
Legal name MERIA SAS · Crypto-asset service provider · Home Member State 🇫🇷 France
Authorised under MiCA
MERIA is listed in the ESMA register as an authorised crypto-asset service provider. The licence was granted by Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) on 22 June 2026 and covers 6 of 10 MiCA services in 8 EEA countries.
What the authorisation covers
MERIA is authorised for 6 of the ten crypto-asset services defined in Article 3(1)(16) of MiCA. It is not authorised for operating a trading platform, exchange for other crypto-assets, placing of crypto-assets, reception and transmission of orders — if it offers those, that activity is outside this licence.
- a Custody and administration 8 countries Holding clients' crypto-assets or the private keys to them, and keeping them safe. This is what a wallet service or an exchange that keeps your coins does.
- b Operating a trading platform not authorised Running a marketplace where buyers and sellers of crypto-assets are matched — an order-book exchange in the strict sense.
- c Exchange for funds 8 countries Buying crypto-assets from clients, or selling to them, against money (euro or another currency) using the provider's own capital.
- d Exchange for other crypto-assets not authorised Swapping one crypto-asset for another with the client, using the provider's own capital — for example bitcoin for a stablecoin.
- e Execution of orders 8 countries Concluding purchases or sales of crypto-assets on the client's behalf, including on a third-party trading platform.
- f Placing of crypto-assets not authorised Marketing newly issued crypto-assets to buyers on behalf of the issuer — the crypto equivalent of underwriting or an IPO placement.
- g Reception and transmission of orders not authorised Taking a client's order to buy or sell and passing it on to another provider that executes it — a broker that does not execute itself.
- h Advice on crypto-assets 8 countries Giving personalised recommendations to a client about buying, selling or holding specific crypto-assets.
- i Portfolio management 8 countries Managing a client's crypto-asset portfolio with discretion, under a mandate — deciding what to buy and sell on their behalf.
- j Transfer services 8 countries Moving crypto-assets from one distributed-ledger address or account to another on the client's behalf.
Where it may operate
Through the MiCA passport, MERIA has notified 8 countries: Belgium, Germany, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal. It has not notified the other 22 EEA states, so a client there is outside the scope of the notification.
