What the number actually means for you
Market findings are about whether you can get out, not about what the code allows. A quoted price only exists at the size the pool can absorb: in a thin pool, selling a position worth a few thousand dollars can move the price by tens of percent, so the figure on a screener is not the figure you would receive. Volume matters for the same reason — a pool with money in it but nothing trading has no buyers, only a number.
What to check next
Compare the pool size with the daily volume, and both with the token's fully diluted value. Real markets trade a meaningful fraction of their liquidity every day and hold a pool that is a fraction of the token's value. When those ratios are far outside that, the price you see is being produced rather than discovered.
How to check it yourself
Everything we report can be verified without us. Open the contract on the block explorer for its chain, read the verified source if there is one, and look at the holders tab: who holds the supply, whether the pool tokens sit in a lock contract or a personal wallet. For market data, compare the pool size with how much actually trades — a pool nobody trades in is a number, not an exit.
If you are about to buy, the cheapest test is the smallest one: buy a tiny amount, then immediately try to sell it. A contract that blocks selling will tell you so for a few dollars instead of everything you were about to put in.
Related checks
- Supply concentrated in few wallets The largest holders together own a large share of the supply.
- Noticeable trading tax Buying or selling costs between 5% and 20%, taken by the contract.
- Thin liquidity There is little money in the pool backing this token.
- The pool holds almost the entire supply The reported liquidity is close to the token's entire fully diluted value.
- Owner holds a large share of supply The owner address holds a significant percentage of all tokens.
- Creator holds a large share of supply The deploying address still holds a significant percentage of the supply.
Questions
What does "Almost no trading" mean on a token?
There has been little or no trading volume in the last 24 hours. Without volume there is no market: you can be the only person trying to sell.
Does it mean the token is a scam?
No. It is a property of the contract or a fact about the market, read from a public source at a point in time. On its own it does not stop you selling. It is context, and it matters most alongside the other findings on the token page.
Where do you read it from?
From market data (DEXScreener): pool size, 24-hour volume, transaction counts and the age of the trading pair.
